About this tool

Population and GDP shares are computed against the sum of all 217 countries with reported World Bank data, using the most recent reporting year for each country. Shares are a snapshot of relative size, not a forecast. GDP shares use nominal GDP at market exchange rates (current US$), so they shift with currency movements as well as real growth.
